My name is Casea Peterson, I’m a 24 year old female recently graduated from the University of Alaska. Before moving to Alaska I spent four years riding for my high school equestrian team (penning, sorting, roping and gaming) and two additional years coaching for their drill, cattle, and gaming events. During my time in Alaska I spent a few seasons working at an equine facility training their ropers and barrel horses. Currently, live outside of Portland, Oregon and spend my time hunting and fishing throughout the state of Washington. My hope is to find a job that allows me to evolve into an able-bodied (and minded) ranch hand. I am a very hard worker and I’m not afraid of getting my hands dirty or hard labor. I have experience working on jeeps, trucks, quads, boat motors, you name it. Every year I split and move three to four cords of firewood, I’m familiar with falling trees, mending fences, driving trailers, building decks, roofing, never ending landscaping, and many other things an only daughter must learn while maintaining a measly three acres in the PNW. I’m comfortable with a wide range of basic hands on skills that surprisingly many of my male friends are incapable of. My hobbies include hunting (bow and rifle) fishing, fly fishing, hiking, camping, backpacking, mountain biking... really as long as it’s outdoors I’m all in. My bachelors degree from Alaska is in English Literature. I am a published writer who currently works as a substitute teacher (kindergarten to high school.) Previously, I worked as a marketing coordinator and assistant media manager for an engineering firm and a publishing company in Portland and then Seattle. I’m not concerned with making a lot of money, I’m only interested in making a living and leading a satisfying life. During the day I want to get my hands dirty and work hard so I can spend my nights writing and feeling satisfied with a lifestyle so closely connected to the land and yet so far away from major cities. I understand that a person with marketing and writing experience can be an asset to families and land owners in this industry so I am more than willing to extend those services as well.
