This position will allow the right candidate to gain valuable experience, have fun, and develop a niche career in the professional horse industry. Live and work on the ranch. Single person, nicely furnished housing with paid utilities plus salary. Sorry-space is limited. No couples or families. The ideal candidate has relevant experience and knowledge of both the professional horse industry and Western retail trade,has a good work ethic,is dependable,flexible,creative,articulate, and able to communicate effectively. This position will initially be a minimum of 20-30 hours per week and will steadily become full time. Starting salary is $10 per hour with a guaranteed raise after 90 days commensurate with performance. Qualifications: •Verifiable ranch related background or employment history • General knowledge and experience riding and working with horses, preferably in one of the Western disciplines •0-1 years of relevant experience with digital communication and social media •Knowledge of emerging online technology with a particular interest in social media tools and trends •Previous experience managing a blog or social network (Facebook,Twitter, YouTube) •Strong computer proficiency, especially utilizing various social media platforms •Excellent grammar useage, writing, and editing skills •The ability to write and communicate both effectively and creatively within time constraints •Entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative team player with a positive outlook and flexible, willing attitude •Ability to work with others as well as independently on assigned projects •Ideal candidate will have both interactive and traditional PR skills Marketing efforts will include: • Writing, editing and posting press releases under the supervision of the Marketing/Social Media Director • Assisting with the management of social media accounts • Assisting with clinics, social events,scheduling,advertising,and retail sales related projects • Assisting with the creation/design of advertisements and brochures If you’re creative, computer savvy, have good command of the English language, are knowledgeable of performance horses and all things Western you may be the ideal candidate. What will set you apart from other candidates is a flexible, "go-getter" attitude, an awareness and appreciation of performance horses, and in particular, what it takes to train performance horses at the elite or "Open" division level.
