Thomas Angus Ranch in Baker City, OR is searching for an Assistant Cowherd Manager. The successful candidate should have experience in the Purebred/Seedstock Industry. Additionally, he/she will be highly organized and can think outside the box. This person will be in the cowherd 100% of the time (no hay production or feeding). The successful candidate will be mainly involved with breeding (A.I. breeding for both Spring and Fall calves), calving, embryo work (year-round), diagnosing and doctoring sick cattle and assist with the logistics of 3 purebred cattle auctions per year. It would be highly beneficial if the person knew blood lines (preferably Angus). An additional positive attribute would be if the person has a B.S. in animal science or a related field, but that is not necessary. We are really looking for someone who knows cattle.
