Description:
Adams Land and Cattle is seeking an individual to lead the floater team who supports all areas of cattle production, including East Lot, Cattle Health, Feeding, Processing, Pen Checking, and Cattle Distribution. In addition to the floater team, this person would be responsible for supervising the cattle operations interns throughout the year.







This person will be responsible for:







Coordinating with cattle operations managers and supervisors weekly and daily on workload planning; scheduling and assigning each floater, based on workforce planning and business needs.



Serving as a technical trainer for cattle operations; assisting with on the job training and education for all cattle operations areas, including cattle handling and equipment operation.



Assisting area supervisors or managers in the supervision of other cattle production teams as needed, as well as working within and beside the teams as business needs arise.



Supervising, coordinating, delegating interns for cattle operations, including introducing them to company culture and developing an internship schedule and program that is educational and beneficial for both interns and the company.



Communication and Leadership:



Leading shift startup meetings.



Representing the floater team at Monday morning safety meeting.



Communicating and supporting company strategies and changes.



Training and developing new and current team members; while communicating progress and areas of opportunity to management.



Providing ongoing feedback and recognition to team by setting performance objectives and communicating throughout the year on progress.



Driving accountability by working with Org Development and management to facilitate conflict resolution, performance improvement, and corrective actions to the team.



Screening applicants through interview process and hiring applicable candidates



Working closely with all levels of the organization and promoting effective and positive relationships with other teams.



Accurately completing assigned projects and reports within all areas of cattle production; maintaining efficiency of personnel to maximize production goals.



Driving a culture of safety, animal welfare, quality, and continuous improvement across all teams and locations.



Serving all customers both internally and externally with a positive, professional, respectful, and courteous attitude with honesty and integrity.







Ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:







Minimum of 2 years of cattle production experience.



Knowledge of general mechanics with experience in preventative maintenance.



Strong interest in leadership.



Strong interest in training and developing personnel.



Driven, organized, action-oriented, analytical, and ability to multi-task.



Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.



Bachelor’s degree in an ag-related major; 2 years of related experience may be substituted with an Associate’s degree; 4 years of experience may be substituted with an High School Diploma/GED.



Flexibility to adapt to other job roles as needed.







This position requires:







Valid Driver’s License.



Individual must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.



Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally; 25-50 lbs. of force frequently; 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly. Standing and sitting frequently; walking, carrying, lifting/lowering, pushing/pulling, bending, twisting, climbing, stairs, reaching/handling/grasping, and kneeling/crouching occasionally.



Schedule will fluctuate based on business needs; weekend may vary as needed.







Compensation Details:







$18-22 per hour
