Description:
Looking for a ranch hand who is a self starter with 5-10 years experience. Person will be responsible for helping taking care of livestock and property for absentee owners of a large NW Texas ranch. Duties include but not limited to: taking care of the property, cattle and horses, calving out heifers, working with young horses, maintaining vehicles and equipment, working on windmills, pumps, water systems and repair, buildings and yard maintenance, some record keeping, daily communication with foreman/manager. This is not a camp job. Skills/experience needed are: moving cattle horseback in big rough pastures with crew or self, good horsemanship, horseshoing, mechanical, welding, plumbing, good communication with management. Candidate must be of good character, mature, have integrity, and be a responsible person in their personal and work life. If lacking in any of the above four areas, need not apply. Prefer a married couple. Nice house and utilities provided, ranch pickup, salary with good benefit package which includes employee health insurance. Employment could lead to foreman position, for the right person, in the next few years.
