Palomino with dun stripe. Had a red dun and grulla dun foal with previous owner. Has 1 herda gene so would have to be bred to a double negative stud. Was told she is a great mama. My husband named her Shadowfax after Gandalf’s horse in the lord of the rings and everyone calls her shadow for short, except me. I call her yellow. She actually will perk up her ears and look at me when I call out yellow. She comes running up to the gate when I say "here ponies!" Mainly because they know they are going to get their HS35 and alfalfa cubes. She is so stunningly beautiful and sweet. Once you earn her trust she has so much try. She is super strong and athletic. She runs more on the hot side sometimes but is very trainable which is rare in older horses. That is why I say she needs an experienced rider or an intermediate rider working with a trainer. She needs continued work on driving with her hind end and staying soft/consistent with her head. I did a 100mi group trail ride in the badlands of North Dakota in October. She was exposed to switchbacks, river crossings, dogs, wildlife, portable fencing, gear, cattle etc. I did this in a twisted snaffle with a roller. She had awesome endurance and didn’t miss a step. Very sure footed. She does get prancy sometimes and likes leading best. I’ve thrown a rope of her once, have worked at a trot around a barrel, have worked the flag, have done round pen ground work and desensitizing, and is lightly started in walk/trot one handed in a bridle. No maintenance, barefoot (held shoes well for our trip though, everyone had to be shoed to not risk an abscess), easy keeper. Up to dates on vaccinations and coggins. Wormed 4 times a year with recommended wormer for each season. Middle in my herd of 3 and has gotten along with any horse I’ve ever thrown her out with. Only selling because my husband is not interested in her as his horse and I have my show gelding I broke out as a 2 year old that I need to focus on getting ready for the show pen next year.
