Description:
Seeking to add a full-time assistant ranch hand position. This is not a cowboy position; it is mainly a ranch feedlot assistant /farm position. Housing is provided at the main headquarters; this ranch is located 100 miles SE of Amarillo TX. Family-owned and operated long-established cow/calf ranch with some farm ground & pivots along with ranch feed yard.



Duties include, but are not limited to:

Planting, disking, mowing

Application of herbicides to manage habitat

Performing preventative maintenance, inspections, and pre-start check on equipment and Facilities

Pivot Maintenance and operation.

Electric fence construction and Maintenance

Maintaining and cleaning equipment, buildings, and facilities

Helping with feeding, branding, weaning, and tagging calves.

Ideally, already BQA trained, if not - willing to get trained.

Ability to take direction and communicate.  

Physically able to work outdoors in all types of weather and uneven terrain.

Commitment to safety for themselves and others.

Welding is a plus, as is road grader experience and skid steer.  



Compensation package includes salary, housing on-site, $500 monthly health Insurance allowance, paid holidays, one-week paid vacation after 1 year, 401K after one year. Some freezer beef.   This location is 25 miles from grocery and retail stores with 4 miles all-weather county road to pavement.  



General requirements:

     Must be flexible with work schedule, most days are 7-5 but not all

     Keep property at guest-ready level at all times

     Must be able to pass criminal background screen and hold valid driver’s license
