We have horse pasture for 3 horses, includes shoes every 6 weeks, and shots in the spring, and wormer. If you have more than 3 this can be discussed. Pay will depend on experience but is competitive, if you fit this position $16 or $17/hr We have a three bedroom 17x80 foot (1,360 sq ft) trailer house 401K after probationary period 1/4 to 1/2 beef after probationary period as well, about every 6 months would welcome a spouse/gf to work if that was sought after We are currently searching for a person who can handle themselves very well horse back, knows cattle and can handle them quietly, as well as proficiently rope. The candidate will be favored if they would be willing to fill in all around. Job would include learning our performance beef application, manual labor such as fencing, some mechanical experience is always a plus but not necessary, operating heavy equipment and tractors, feeding with the hay wagon and tractor on occasion, grind grain, running a bale buster, range calving, riding pens, processing, pasture doctoring grass cattle, and all ranch aspects. There are many things to do to acquire as many hours as you would like. These jobs would be some of the variations here. A lot of time will be spent riding, especially during the summer months checking yearlings and during calving season. Our schedule is 11 days on and 3 days off. We all try to help out during hay season but one would NOT be expected to sit in a tractor all season. For hay season or silage, a daily routine for this position might be might be to ride and check cattle, put out mineral, accomplish any pasture moves or bullers in the morning and swath in the afternoon, swapping out with someone else. Were in need of a person capable of taking direction, while being respectful and dependable. This position would be well filled by someone who takes pride in their work, workplace, and responsibility for the animals well-being. If one excels at this position there is room for a raise/evaluation. We run 3000 yearlings and 400 mother cows which are range calved. 1000 to 1500 yearlings will be on grass for the summer months. The processing barn is new and indoors. A dog or two for work is alright as long as they are obedient. If they aren’t needed that day, would prefer if they stayed home.
