Description:
Hello there!

We are a family of 5 seeking ranch hand job in Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, South Dakota and may be open to other western states. We are looking for a long term, family-oriented position where our kids can be involved in learning/helping in all aspects of ranching.

Below is a little bit (maybe a lot) about us. Resumes and references are available upon request. Hiring both of us is not necessary, but the kids and I (Tina) are available and willing to help around the ranch anywhere it is needed. We would like a position that offers housing and possibly some space that allows us to bring our horses, which can also be used for work (we can cover all feed and care costs for them). While a nearby school is a plus for the kids, they are all currently being homeschooled, and we are willing to relocate to a remote area.

Ethan:

Majority of previous jobs have been live on ranch positions in the western states of California, Nevada, Oregon and Montana. Experienced in commercial cow/calf/yearling operations and small amount of experience in registered seedstock. Would prefer to stay in the commercial aspect and would prefer a position that works horseback rather than ATV. We have our own horses that we can bring and use on the ranch.

Work experience includes (about 8 years worth): shipping/receiving, calving, tagging, branding, doctoring and maintaining herd health, livestock maintenance/feeding through winter and other common ranch tasks, new fence construction and existing fence repair/maintenance. Several previous positions have required travel between leased and owned properties to haul cattle, rotate pastures, maintain optimal herd health and minimize loss due to predation, decision making and troubleshooting problems without supervision.

Tina:

Experience lies more on the equine side of things, but very willing and interested in learning more on the cattle side. I have helped Ethan on small levels with gathering, vaccinating and tagging calves. Also have vaccinated/dewormed cattle while they are in a chute. I have experience bottle feeding calves (so do our kids!). I am currently running a small equine related non-profit and also transport operation, so I am use to hauling a trailer. I have taken out guided trail rides, assisted in veterinary care and breeding. I have my Bachelor’s degree in Equine and Ranch Management from Feather River College and would love to become an asset to any aspect of a ranch.

We are not in a rush. We are seeking long term, so a good fit for us and potential employer would be most beneficial. While Ethan is currently employed, we are very willing to travel to meet prior to a job being offered or accepted for the right fit.

Please feel free to call or message with any questions or opportunities you might have for us.
