Room & Board: Yes Phone #: 406-851-5835 click to view fullsize image Description: J Bar L Ranches Cinch Buckle Ranch, located outside of Broadus, in southeast MT is in search of a Ranch Hand to join our team. The Cinch Buckle Ranch Hand would be responsible for assisting and supporting the Operations Manager in managing the Cinch Buckle Ranch. This candidate must exhibit an open mind, a willingness to be a team player, and work individually without supervision. We use ATV’s, UTV’s, and horses for all cattle related work. Specific Responsibilities: • First and foremost, consistently help the ranch manage towards ecological, social and financial resiliency. • Must be able to work as part of a collaborative team; celebrating losses and successes as such. • Assist in all cattle related duties. o Animal Health - Work closely with veterinarians when necessary. - Distribution of mineral/salt/protein supplementation. - Doctor animals when necessary. - Assist in health related issues in all livestock. o General Cattle Duties - Assist in managing all yearling cattle related duties. - Assist in managing the cow herd. - Implement Low Stress Livestock Handling. - Participate in production events such as pregnancy testing, weaning, shipping etc. o Land Management - Assist In the implementation of grazing plans for the Cinch Buckle Ranch. - Assist in implementing high intensity, short duration grazing through herding and electric fencing with animal performance and ecological health in mind. - Monitor range condition according to grazing plan and precipitation. Help to re-plan when necessary. - Fence construction and maintenance. - Corral Repair and Construction. - Vehicle Repair and Maintenance. - Water pipeline/tank maintenance and functionality. o Social - Work and communicate well with Operations management and extended team. - Exhibit willingness to learn and be open minded to new ideas. - Spend time proactively vs. reactively. - Responsibly represent the Cinch Buckle/J Bar L Team in all social/community settings o Skills - Communication - Equipment operation and Maintenance (ATV, UTV, Tractor, etc.) - Stockmanship - Horsemanship - Roping (Branding/Pasture Doctoring) Interested applicants can send a resume to Drew at cinchbuckleranch@yahoo.com Posted 02-05-20 7395 visitors have viewed this ad
