Population 119 About the operation: • We are a family oriented, Cow-Calf operation located in Southern Nevada in the small town of Hiko. • This ranch consists of 2700 acres of deeded pastures and hay fields, a 78,000-acre 12-month BLM range. • We run 1200 Cow Calf Pairs Angus/Hereford Fall Calving operation. • 2000 head Back-grounding feedlot. Job Duties: • This position requires a person with extensive knowledge in all phases of cattle production from breeding to weaning including calving, pasture and pen doctoring, branding, tagging and feeding. • Horsemanship is a must! Riding skills and roping skills are necessary to do this job. Must be able to pasture rope and catch and tie off. Horses will be provided if necessary. • Fencing: We build and repair our own fences. Must be able to repair and build strong and straight 6 wire fences. • Maintain and repair water systems. • Move and process cattle. • Must be willing to work 6 days per week. (Monday thru Saturday). • Mechanical / Welding / CDL a plus. Compensation Package: • This is a full time, non-seasonal – long term position. • Competitive salary based on skills and experience. • Housing and utilities provided, (not satellite TV). • Ranch Truck and 4Wheeler provided. • Employee health insurance provided. Family health insurance offered. • 401K benefits offered with 5% company match. • 2 weeks paid vacation per year. • Sundays off each week (other than feeding). • Position reports to Livestock & Farm Manager. Candidate Skills and Requirements: • The employee for this position must be punctual, dependable, have common sense, and treat co-workers, animals and equipment with respect. • Be willing to work in an isolated area, 18 miles to basic services. • Candidate must be clean cut and a non-smoker, with no drug use. • Must be willing to self-manage and work alone but also be able to work well with others. • Candidate must be organized, punctual and self-motivated. • Must possess a strong work ethic and be physically capable of manual labor. • Candidate must be willing to “think outside the box” and be innovative with problem solving. • Must speak and understand English. Candidates must possess and successfully complete: • Clean Driving Record. • Drug test (not just at application time but also random tests due to driving responsibilities.) • Criminal background test. • Personality test administered by a 3rd party service. • Work references must be provided and will be checked.
