Description:
Live-in Groom needed for private, 70-acre equestrian property in Canton, GA. Currently there are 11 horses in total; 5 working, 1 semi-retired and the rest are minis/donkeys. There are Spanish Stallions on the property as well as mares but there is not a breeding program. The owner of the property rides dressage but candidates do not have to have experience with the discipline as long as they have equestrian experience and are familiar with the tack. Candidates should have experience with French and running braids or be capable of learning how to do so.



The well-being of the horses (and all animals on the property) should be the number one concern of any candidate applying for the position. Aside from the horse operation, the owner of the property also runs a non-profit rescue for dogs. Ideal candidates will know how to work with horses in a soft and caring manner but have the ability to be stern with the animals when needed in a non-heavy-handed fashion. This is not a riding or training position, but candidates should be very comfortable working with and around horses.



Groom will be joining an existing team and must be a team player, willing to assist wherever they may be needed. Should be capable of operating basic farm equipment/implements and must have a high level of physical fitness to keep up with the demands of the position.
