I have a Bachelors of Science in Equine Studies and am currently located in Springview, NE. I am originally from Pennsylvania and went to college in northern Jersey. I am open to any jobs but it would be nice to find an animal science job. Maybe a job with breeding and broodmares, a vet assistant, equine nutrition, or anything that might work for me! I am very passionate about animal science, especially equine science. I have experience with administering medications orally, IM and IV with horses and foals. I have experience with placing IV Catheters on foals, but I haven’t had as much experience placing IV catheters in adult horses but I would love to get that skill down. I am familiar with a good amount of drugs and medication due to my past work experiences and especially with my father being a pharmacist and my mother a nurse. I have been around the medical terms and such my whole life. I was a foal watcher in the NICU at New Bolton (PENN Vet) in PA, and Ive worked at a vet as an MRI tech. I was also a Pharmacy Tech in highschool. I have experience handling very different types of horses from studs, mares, to yearlings or new born foals, and am confident doing so. I have rode in many different disciplines between hunter/ jumper, barrel racing, sorting, and ranch riding. I have ridden and trained young horses, and older horses. Ive been to a ton of cool clinics and love learning more about riding and training. I have very limited experience with cattle, but I am learning more and very open to it! My roping skills definitely need some work too, but I am working on them as well. I enjoy reproduction and broodmares. This year at my previous job, during breeding and foaling season, I was in charge of keeping the mares healthy and vaccinated and dewormed by a certain date, then I kept track of each broodmare and recip mare and was on foal watch. After foaling we would plasma the colts. I would prepare everything, sedate both mare and colt, and place the IV catheter. I kept track of each mares foaling date so we could predict when she would go into heat to get rebred, then I would keep in touch with our vets for breeding and preg checking purposes, and go over which mare was being bred to which stud. I am good with horses and hands on aspect, but I am also very good at keeping records and any kind of book work. I am not afraid of hard work and long hours. At my previous workplace, we had an annual production sale every summer, so I know what goes into that. I am also a photographer. I have experience doing sale photos for horses and marketing different types of photos to advertise a horse. My photography page on facebook is “Hannah Walsh Photography” I have been featured in Working Ranch Magazine and Rodeo News for my photography, so someone that would understand me occasionally being able to go and take photos would be awesome. I love learning and asking questions, I have no problem being honest about my ability or asking for help or advice. I get along with a group or individually, and I am good and patient with clients! I am an honest, hardworking woman with a positive upbeat attitude. I have a huge sense of humor and bubbly personality! I would prefer staying around Nebraska or South Dakota! But for the right job I would go just about anywhere. I have two horses and one dog I have full resume and plenty of references!
