We are an entity of LKS Outfitters -- one of Colorado’s largest permitted wilderness outfitters. We offer fully guided big game hunts, drop camp hunts, guided fishing trips and summer pack trips. We maintain a herd of 40-60 hard-working horses and mules. Our headquarters neighbors a USFS trailhead and endless public lands. FTWG facilities include an immaculate log hunting lodge, a 3,000-square-foot lighted barn and pack station, and a newly renovated communal employee bunkhouse. Job Description: We are currently seeking 1-2 full-time seasonal employees for the upcoming season. As a Guide/Wrangler on our team, you will have the opportunity to spend several months working with equines in a backcountry setting. You will learn to pack meat and equipment using traditional methods. You will also regularly engage with guests as you showcase our region’s diverse and unique landscapes, hunting/fishing opportunities and wildlife. This role will support and assist the management team in all aspects of FTWG operations. Preference will be shown to candidates with strong horsemanship skills, good character, demonstrated professionalism and a desire to be in the outdoors. We often work long hours in cold and inclement weather. This is a seasonal position (June 1 - December 1), but start/end dates may be flexible. Bunkhouse accommodations and grocery are included, but staff does their own cooking. Ideal candidates are reliable, self-motivated, and resilient. This job requires grit. Our mountains are tough, but our staff is tougher! Preference will be given to those with relevant experience, but anyone passionate about horses, mules, hunting, packing, fishing, or the outdoors is encouraged to apply.
