Big Steve is an exceptional gelding that’s been in our hands the last two years. This is absolutely the most gentle horse we have EVER owned. Steve has been ranched on most of his career, has an enormous amount of heart and try, and is the picture of reliability and safety. Steve lopes and trots around smooth as glass and has easy transitions. Not only is Big Steve a great mover, but he has an amazing personality. He is always the first one at the gate ready for what ever task you have planned. No matter how hard you ride Big Steve the day prior he is ready! This one-of-a-kind gelding can take any amount of time off and still be the single most gentle horse on the whole place even for the most novice riders. Steve also has the most gentle ground manners as well . Whether it be Saylor (7 years old ) giving him a bath or Townes (3 years old ) running around the barn, Steve is always taking care of our kids! Not only is Steve great for the kids and novice riders but he is a great ranch horse. This gelding has been used extensively on the ranch as well. From dragging calves in the early spring to shipping on those cool, frosty fall mornings, Steve has done everything in between. Steve has also been a great horse to ride in the feedlot and when it comes to dragging calves, no matter how big they are, Steve is very stout to the horn! Big Steve has been ridden countless miles in the Palo duro Canyon and there are no obstacles Steve cannot endure. He is very sure-footed when it comes to rocky terrain and maneuvers effortlessly over logs and timber and crosses water with no hesitation. Steve has also been exposed to all sorts of different kind of traffic and equipment. Whether it be feed trucks, semis, skid steers or tractors, Steve keeps his mind in the middle and does not shy or spook, he truly is an amazing horse!
