I normally don’t rant on one this much, but she is really worth telling you all about. “Covergirl” is a 5 yr old mare, standing 15 hands, weighing 1250, and is absolutely drop dead gorgeous. She’s blood bay with a long mane and tail and is as conformationaly correct as you can make them. She’s heavy muscled and has a solid bone and foot to go along with it, she’s built to last! This is a home raised mare, she was born on our place, started by us as a 2 yr old, and has been my personal horse for the last several years. Covergirl is extremely gentle. She’s never ever offered to buck, including the first time we put a saddle on her back. I can confidently say I would let my grandma crawl on her 6 months fresh. I mean extremely gentle. She doesn’t spook and get silly, she’s plumb quiet to ride off alone, she never hesitates or argues, just extremely reliable. But she’s also no plug, she is fancy broke and handy! I’ve used her to do everything. She’s branded calves, doctored yearlings, gathered pairs in the Idaho mountains, you name it. She’s got a lot of cow and is my pick to sort on. She is gritty and has a big work ethic, and I don’t think there’s a thing she wouldn’t try for you. Covergirl also comes with a resume in the arena, she is a finished breakaway horse, as well as head horse. The first five breakaway jackpots I took her to, we won 1st or 2nd. Then we continued to place along at some of the Arizona jackpots this last winter. She is so easy to rope on, she would put your loop on for you if she could. Covergirl scores like a shot dog, has a lot of speed, but also has a lot of rate and cow and can really stop. She’s super flat and truly the kind that will make you a winner, whether that be on the breakaway side or head side. She’s also my pick to take to the ranch rodeos. She’s strong enough to drag one in the trailer but handy enough to sort one out of the herd and rope either end on. This mare has her whole life ahead of her, and is extremely versatile. Whether you’re looking for a reliable trail horse, seasoned ranch horse, or winning rope horse I highly encourage you to look at her. She is an easy keeper, she always eats and drinks while hauling, she’s good to shoe, bathe, load, etc. She is 100 percent sound and I’ve never had her take a lame step.
