We have been producing catalog horse sales for five years. We are second and third generation professional horsemen who ride competitively in a range of disciplines. You can find us roping in a jackpot one weekend, then riding a show hunter the next. We appreciate a talented horse in any discipline. We specialize in recognizing potential in horses and operate based upon the motto "a horse can not stay better than the rider on its back for very long" (said by Max Gahwyler). Heritage Livestock will be hosting six catalog horse sales this year in Parsons, KS, Mt. Vernon, MO, and Butler, MO. Five of the six sales will have an Open Sale following the catalog. **ON SITE AQHA Services at the April & August Parsons sales** The Proven Session Preview is unique to our sales in Parsons, KS and features a 5-minute, 5-maneuver test to be completed by horses entered in this catalog session. The Proven Test was designed by Sale Manager Dennis Raucher and demonstrates all of the qualities Dennis looks for when buying a horse. The consignor must dismount, unbridle and re-bridle the horse then remount, trot and lope a figure-8 showing two leads, work a gate, side pass, and pull a log from the horn. Horses must be shown in a plain, bitted bridle. No tie-downs, hackamores, war bridles, etc. Tests are scored by two senior horsemen. Awards given to the top three placing horses once they sell in the ring on Saturday. Proven Session horses have consistently topped the sale. Team roping preview to follow the Proven Session tests. The Select Sale in June is held at our ranch in Mt. Vernon, MO. This sale features 50 head of select horses from invited consignors. You will find talented horses in all disciplines in this sale - from a ranch versatility horse, to an eventing prospect, to a seasoned team roping horse. Ample preview the Friday before the sale.
