If you are looking for a flashy young prospect with a good foundation, that you can use on the ranch or take to the arena and make a performance horse out of, then take a look at Kidd. They don’t come much better looking than he is, and on top of that he is gentle, willing, athletic and an excellent mover. Kidd is a 4 year old sorrel gelding, 15.1hh and extremely well built with a big hip, wide chest, a pretty head with a kind eye, and plenty of chrome with his 3 white socks and blaze. He sells as grade and we do not know how he is bred. He is a nice ranch horse, but has the ability to make an excellent head horse, barrel horse or even a ranch versatility horse. We sold Kidd back in March to a 79 year old lady, and while he takes good care of her she feels like he needs more riding at this point than she is able to do, so we are reselling him for her on consignment. Prior to that, he spent a year being used in a feedyard and on a big ranch out in West Texas for all phases of ranch work, including roping and gathering cattle in the pasture, sorting pairs, and tagging and doctoring calves. Kidd has never been roped off of in the arena or been in the box, only roped off of on the ranch. He is cowy and strong to the horn, and never gets excited when working cattle. He is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. Kidd has an excellent foundation and has been broke the right way, with a good handle and nice stop. He has the smoothest jog you could sit to all day long, a rocking horse lope, is good on both leads, will sidepass and work a gate. Kidd can be ridden by himself or with a large group of horses with no problem. He will leave the group willingly and will happily lead or follow. He has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and is not bothered by it. This is a nice young horse that is ready for someone to take him to the next level.
