We are really interested in opportunities in the West (NM, UT, WYO, MT or even OR) but would entertain any opportunity. We both have experience ranching in eastern South Dakota and the Sandhills of Nebraska, so we are trying to get some new experiences in different places. As far as the job is concerned, we are not looking for solely cowboy positions but rather overall ranch management positions. Being 20 and 21 years old, we don’t know everything, so we are anxious and willing to learn whatever there is to offer. Neither of us have been around an operation that is mostly from horseback, so a position that could provide that would be very interesting. After we graduate, our goal is to get a ranch management position somewhere that would allow us to build a herd of our own alongside maintaining/improving the owners. This summer could be a great opportunity to turn into something more after college (Graduate from South Dakota State in May of 2020). As stated above, we are willing to go where ever the opportunity takes us. We are both incredibly motivated individuals with a desire to do our jobs the best we can. Other Attributes: The both of us have dealt with intensive grazing practices that help limit the amount of sand blowouts and overeating while providing more than adequate nutrition for the animals. We have ran fence, weaned, doctored, roped in and outside the branding pen, ran feeder wagons, loader tractors and most other equipment. We both can drive truck and pickup/trailer.
