The manager will report directly to the owner. As this is a private ranch the ranch manager works to ensure all aspects of the ranch are to the owner’s satisfaction. The duties of the ranch manager will include but are not limited to: • Supervise all employees and contractors • Responsible for all facilities, activities, wildlife, livestock, etc.. • Implement and carry out wildlife management plan • Ensure security of property • Prepare and approve payroll and spending accounts • Negotiate, prepare and review hay leases • Coordinate with TPWD for MLD program • Oversee, schedule and report on all hunting activities • Inspect all ranch structures and buildings and schedule maintenance as needed • Monitor activities such as Herd numbers, Animal health, chemical application, habitat improvements, animal sales and harvesting, to ensure care of entire ranch and all habitat types • Communicate openly with owners and accounting/office personnel regarding ranch business and activities • Prepare budgets for ranch operations • Develop and maintain relationships with surrounding land owners • Oversee and maintain all firearms, recreational vehicles, weekend activity related facilities etc. • Maintain emergency facilities and all related aspects • Be familiar with exotic animal immobilization, recovery and health care (Currently 12 species) • Manage all timber, fruit orchard, wildlife on property to maximize production • Prepare the ranch for weekly visits by owner, owner family and owner guests • Prepare and coordinate for special events and parties Qualifications: • 4 year degree in wildlife management from accredited college or university • Minimum 5 years’ experience in ranch management • Working knowledge of eastern Texas wildlife management • Have a general understanding of all aspects of a private guest ranch • Working knowledge of livestock and agricultural operations • Working knowledge of ranch accounting and budgeting • Working knowledge of native and exotic wildlife species • Preferred applicant will be bilingual in Spanish and English • Preference given to applicants with law enforcement and or military background • Working knowledge of High fence game ranch Please send resume and references to graingerranchrecruiting@gmail.com with Athens as the subject line.
