Robert is a bit and spur maker originally from Amarillo, Texas. His work is illustrated in Bits & Spurs Motifs, Techniques and Modern Makers by Ned & Jody Martin. Robert has been building bits, spurs, and cowboy hardware since 1994. The bit is marked Evans inside one cheek piece and 1411 inside the other cheek piece. The cheek pieces are steel and are beginning to rust. They are mounted with ten pieces of engraved nickel silver. It is not bent, broken, or repaired. This would be a nice bit to use.
