Description:
Pecos is a 12 year old black and white paint gelding. 14.3hh. Been used on the ranch and roped off of. No buck but a big motor and a big step. Needs a job. Neck reins, rides out on a loose rein, crosses water, rides along the road. Lopes on both leads, very smooth trot and rocking horse lope. Loads, great for the shoer, easy to catch, stands quietly tied. Light mouth. Sound and healthy. Just had teeth floated, wormed, new shoes and coggins. Excellent ground manners, super gentle to be around. He knows how to travel out in the pasture and will go all day long if you need him to. Pecos can be ridden by himself or in a large group of horses with no problem. He will leave the group willingly and will happily lead or follow. He has also been ridden along the side of the road and in traffic and is not bothered by it. However, we are selling him as a project horse, not for kids, beginners, your elderly father, or anyone else not capable of handling a project. I ride him and i’m pregnant, my partner rides him and he is 66 years old, so he’s obviously not an outlaw.



His issues: Rides away from the barn with zero issue, rides away from other horses with zero issue, but coming home, when he gets within a couple hundred yards of the barn, he wants to prance a little and hurry home. Also, if you are riding him in the pasture and slow him down when he wants to keep going he will get a little fussy with his face. He has a good stop and is easy to control, just tosses his head around a little if he wants to go and you want him to stop. We do not have the time or energy to fix his problems, but I think he could be fixed relatively easily and then he will be worth twice what you paid for him. $2500.
