Come ride Duke before the sale in Wellington. Phone bids are taken at the sale. DUKE is a 6-year-old ranch gelding that really stands out with his color and long, thick black mane and tail. He is the perfect height, not too tall, but tall enough to get any job done right. He is as gentle and broke as they come. You can walk up to Duke anywhere in the pasture, jump on him bareback without a halter or bridle and ride him to the barn without ever getting off. We know the life history of Duke as he was raised from a yearling and trained by a family member who is a great horsewoman. Duke was raised on a ranch, moving cattle, branding, sorting pairs and yearlings, gathering cattle off the mountain, pasture doctoring, and everything else you can imagine. He is sure-footed, crosses ditches and swamps, climbs steep hills, goes down steep draws, goes through thick trees, all with no issues, going as fast or slow as you want. We have started roping the heel-o-matic on Duke and even have roped some live steers on the head side. He is stout, sure-footed, sound and structurally correct with lots of breed characteristics. He is not cinchy and is the same if you ride him every day or every few months. He is easy to shoe, clips, trailer loads, stands all day and even ground ties anywhere.
