Description:
If you like your horses short, stout and flashy then this may be the horse for you. Henry is built like a bulldog, 14.2 hh and close to 1150 pounds with a wide chest, huge hip, and a ton of bone. He is a 12 year old chocolate palomino with a pretty mane and tail and willing disposition. Henry is gentle and has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off, and he is catty and responsive to his riders aids. He rides out quietly on a loose rein and knows how to travel out in the pasture. We sold this horse 5-6 years ago to an older gentleman, who rode him on his ranch and also let his grandchildren ride him. The man had to recently stop riding due to illness so Henry is back for sale due to no fault of his own. Henry has been ridden all over Texas and New Mexico on different ranches and state parks. He is very sure footed and will go up, over or through anything you point him at. He is the same horse everywhere you take him, and enjoys overnight camping trips and multi day trail rides. Henry is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. He has a good handle and nice gaits, and really gets his butt underneath him when he stops. He has also been used to push cattle and check fence but has not been roped off of. Henry can be ridden by himself or with other horses, will happily lead or follow and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. He has been ridden down the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it.. He is gentle on the ground, has good ground manners, stands quietly tied, and is easy to catch, load, haul and shoe. $4000.
