If you have a little cowboy or cowgirl who is looking for a step up horse to use on the ranch or learn to rope off of, then take a look at Tuxedo. He is the coolest pony, 10 years old and 13hh, extremely stout, and broke just like a big horse. He grew up on a ranch out in West Texas where he was used to rope and sort sheep, goats and cattle. Tuxedo has an excellent handle and is handy in the sorting pen. He is good on the end of a rope and does not ever get excited. He has been used for just about everything under the sun. Tuxedo has been hauled a ton and exposed to just about everything possible, and nothing bothers him or spooks him! He has excellent ground manners, stands quietly tied, enjoys getting a bath, and is easy to catch, load, haul and shoe. Tuxedo has roped and drug calves to the fire and would make an excellent calf horse or breakaway horse. He is a Gypsy Vanner cross, big boned and tough with a good mind, quiet disposition and a gentle personality. The little kiddos can run around him and crawl all over him and he will stand there like a statue so he doesn’t hurt or scare them. He has been used in playdays doing both leadline and riding alone, and can be ponied all over the ranch with a little one on his back. Tuxedo is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. He neck reins easily, will sidepass, work a gate, lope circles on both leads, and stops easily. He will go up, over or through anything you point him at, and is extremely sure footed in rough ground. Tuxedo has carried a flag in grand entries and would make an amazing drill team horse. He rides quietly on a loose rein, never going any faster than you ask him to, but has some speed if you ask him for it. He can be ridden by himself or with other horses, will happily lead or follow and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. Tuxedo has been ridden down the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. He has never been foundered and has absolutely no soundness or health issues. He has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick, or take off. The worst thing he will do if he is fresh is kick out when you first ask him to lope off, but if he is ridden regularly he doesn’t offer this. $5500. Call Wendy for more information at 210-363-1883.
