She is very well bred, AQHA registered as “McgraysLoululu” # 4813726, and she is HYPP N/N. She has Gay Bar King right on her papers, and also traces back to Dry Dock, Cutter Bill and Mr San Peppy. She is the type of horse you can catch, saddle, and hop on and not worry about her acting silly, even if it has been weeks since she was ridden last. She would also make an excellent drill team horse or playday horse. Monarch is 15 years old, 14.3hh, sound and healthy with no injuries or health problems. She has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off. She will go up, over or through anything you point her at, and doesn’t mind going through thick brush or stepping over logs. Monarch is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and travels out nicely in the pasture. She has a good handle and stop, backs easily, will lope pretty circles on both leads, and has a light mouth. Monarch is laid back but responsive, will walk quietly all day long but will easily step into a trot or lope when asked. She does have speed if you ask her for it, so she is probably not suited for a beginner or small child, but an intermediate rider or better would really enjoy her. Monarch can be ridden out by herself or with other horses, will easily lead or follow, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. She has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. She has good ground manners, is perfect for the shoer, loads and hauls well, and stands quietly tied. The only bad thing I can say about her is that she can be hard to catch in a big pen, but once she gets to know you she gets easier to catch.
