She came into our life as a 3yr old to be finished off in her "starting" process. After learning more about a handle, miles, and spending a fair amount of time pushing up the drag on cattle and sheep we sent her home. July 2016 we had the opportunity to purchase her and she has been a major part of our outfit ever since. "Elvira" has been quite the "go-to" horse for us. No stranger to rough country, she has made us proud from being easy to shoe, gathering sheep and cattle, riding fence, dragging calves, to teaching my 14yr old niece to become a more confident rider, to catching smaller cattle on a clean up job, she has made us proud every time. This past year we even hauled her to a few Stock Horse of Texas and Ranch Horse of America Association shows to simply have the motivation to encourage her handle to be that much better (She loves to watch a cow). Our goal has been to give her a great home while she has been with us, always encouraging/appreciating her gentle, gelding-like nature. She is a quiet, shapey looking mare who is great fun to simply just swing a leg over and go enjoy a ride out through the pastures. She has been many miles and it is a very rare sight to see her spook at anything. We feel we have prepared her very well to go home with a new owner to place her in the field of their choice of occupation. She does not have registration papers, but her reliability and smooth gates easily make a person forget about it. Trail ride, junior rodeo, play day, heel prospect, breakaway, ranch horse and the long list goes on of the capabilities we believe she has to become a special asset for someonel. Never seen this mare take a lame step with or without shoes and she’s an easy keeper. Please don’t hesitate to text/call for more info.
