Description:
Small horse ranch seeking an experienced horse caretaker/instructor. We are looking for a qualified person to train owner’s horses in Ranch Versatility and Reined Cow Horse disciplines and instruct owner’s family in those disciplines. The family intends to show their horses in the future, as well as, put together a set of brood mares to produce horses to either show or sell.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Minimum of 10 years of experience riding and training horses

2. Must have experience in ranch versatility and reined cow horse

3. Must have extensive knowledge of equine health

4. Must be able to operate a small tractor and associated equipment (mower/ arena drag/ etc.)

5. Needs to have a basic knowledge of cattle health and maintenance

6. Must be clean and organized

7. Must be a patient teacher with good communication skills

8. Must have a love for horses, as abuse or heavy-handed training will not be tolerated.

9. Must have own transportation (ranch will provide horse trailers when necessary)

10. Non-drinker



ALL INTERESTED APPLICANTS MUST BE WILLING TO PERFORM THE FOLLOWING DUTIES:

1. Daily riding/exercising of the horses, along with basic horse care and feeding

2. Medical treatments as prescribed by a veterinarian

3. Clean stalls and grounds

4. Willing to work longer hours when necessary (i.e. foaling and/or medical needs)

5. WILLING TO UNDERGO A BACKGROUND CHECK
