I do colt starting, tune ups, & advanced training. I have most experience with working ranch disciplines. Horses will be hauled & rode in big open country & are used to do ranch work, gather, move, & sort cattle. Depending on the time of year I do a lot pasture roping. Doctoring & tagging calves & doctoring yearlings. I also go to brandings. I believe strongly in on the job training & work hard to expose horses to all types of experiences encountered in everyday ranch work. I believe this produces the best, most well rounded horses that can & are willing to do whatever is asked of them. I do extensive ground work & emphasize willingness & respect. A started colt/horse will do the following: stand quietly for grooming & saddling, pick up feet for cleaning & have them trimmed, lead easily, walk, trot, lope on signal, stop, backup, & guide well. I strive to & have consistently produced calm, respectful, willing horses that can go whatever direction the client would like. I do take some older problem horses. With time & patience I have corrected them. I do have indoor facilities to ride/train during the winter & plenty of outside ground to ride on the nicer winter days. I have access to cattle year round. I strongly recommend & encourage clients to come at the end of training and ride with me. This is to ensure that the horse is responding & respectful to the client. Thereby, the client is confident in their ability to control, depend on, & enjoy their horse & I am assured that they are satisfied with the job I have done. Time Honored Tradition...Proven Results!
