We are looking for a motivated person with long-term goals. Must have team spirit and willingness to work with others. The MIT will be working directly under the IX Ranch west manager. The person will live in Big Sandy, MT. There is a 2 bedroom 1 bath home, with a non-conforming bedroom in the basement. The MIT position will be working at the Whitcraft location which is located 5 miles from Big Sandy. This position is considered to be a two year program. This candidate will work as the assistant manager for the Whitcraft location and be responsible for supervising the day to day operations and overseeing the bunk house employees, which employs 2-3 year round and 4-7 seasonally. This person would also be responsible for managing the summer Hay Crew at the Whitcraft location. This location is the hub of the ranch with 2 pivots and flood irrigation. The bulk of the steer pairs are weaned and shipped out of this location. The Whitcraft will winter and feed around 1800 head of cattle and range calve 1050 head, and 450 head of 3 yr. olds. The candidate at this location would need experience in the following areas: Low stress cattle handling Range calving Horsemanship skills Pivot irrigation and all aspects of haying Maintain infrastructure to include fences, buildings, corrals, stock water and yards Vehicle and machinery maintenance Computer skills to include daily updates to supervisors, and understanding of excel, word and google drive.
