He stands at 14.3-15 hh and is located near Wessington Springs, SD. He is a completely finished ranch horse. He is EXTREMELY cowy and will get down and cut one. Really, really fun horse to sort on. You can pasture rope and doctor cattle off of him, pasture sort, work a gate, drag the calf sled in a blizzard. This horse is tough as nails and super handy. He has been hauled in the Sr Men’s breakaway and is a world class athlete. Hauls great, scores great, smooth stop, has a ton of run and ability. We have knot roped on him. Murdo has some quirks. He can be cold backed. He’s not exactly a bronc and he’s not dirty about it- it’s always in a straight line and more in the crow hop category but he is not a "little kid horse" or a "Grandpa horse". He can be watchy on the ground initially but does have very polite manners, stands tied excellent and is not one bit spooky or a run away. Does not care about other horses and has run with geldings and mares in large groups and has no issues. He lunges great so if you feel the need to, you can do that. Sometimes he can be hard to catch. We loaned him to our 16 yr old neighbor kid and they got along great ranching on him when they were short a horse. Priced to sell now, if he is still here in a few weeks we will continue calf roping training and his price will increase. $7000 OBO. Teeth floated in June, up to date on farrier and worming.
