Description:
This is one fancy gelding! You’ll have a hard time finding one any better looking than Drillbit. He is a stout bay roan gelding, 14.3hh and close to 1250 pounds, extremely well made with a big hip, pretty head with a kind eye, and three white socks with a big blaze. Drillbit has everything going for him: he is easy on the eyes, extremely well broke, as gentle as they come, and very handy on the ranch. He is 11 years old and AQHA registered as “BuiltoPerfection” # 4923400. He is very well bred, by an Own Son of Shining Spark and out of a granddaughter of Zippo Pine Bar. Check out his complete pedigree at: http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/builtoperfection Drillbit came off of a ranch out in West Texas, where he was used for all phases of ranch work, including sorting pairs, roping and doctoring cattle in the pasture, ponying colts and checking fence. He is stout, tough, and could pull a house down if you asked him to. Drillbit is strong to the horn and good on the end of a rope, never getting excited or upset when working cattle. We have started roping the hot heels with him, and he would make one heck of a calf horse, heel hrose or breakaway horse. Drillbit is very quick and catty, runs flat, and can really stop. He excels in the sorting pen, with his responsiveness and cowy nature. He is a total gentleman on the ground, with a sweet, friendly nature and a willing attitude. Drillbit has never offered to buck, rear, bite, kick or take off. He is very quick footed and responsive, and a gem to ride out in the pasture. He rides quietly on a loose rein, never going any faster than you ask him to, crosses water with no problem, and will go up, over or through anything you point him at. Drillbit has the smoothest little jog that you could sit to all day long, a nice rocking horse lope, and an excellent stop. He can spin a hole in the ground, does beautiful rollbacks, will work off your leg, sidepass, and get a gate. Drillbit can be ridden out by himself or with other horses, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. He has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. Drillbit has excellent ground manners, stands quietly tied, gets along great with other horses, will load in any type of trailer you ask him to, and saddles and bridles easily. He is easy to catch, load, haul and shoe. Drillbit can be a little looky when riding in the pasture and encountering new things.
