Description:
This is Wyatt, a 13-year-old sooty buckskin gelding. He stands at 15 hands and is all muscle! He’s a handsome horse who turns heads everywhere he goes. He has good, hard feet and was recently 2 weeks ago (I only do 2 on front, none on the back -- just personal preference). I’ve had adults and children on this handsome boy, and he’s gentle and sensitive to each of them. He’s never bolted or acted stupid, even with the most novice of riders. He’s patient, and allows others to learn on him. I’ve never seen a horse so patient, honestly.

Wyatt used to be a roper until an injury to his front left shoulder. He occasionally still limps during bad weather or if he hasn’t been warmed up enough after a long time out of saddle, but it’s hardly noticeable these days and doesn’t seem to cause pain. Vet said we could do x-rays but it was likely just arthritis that had acted up after the injury.

This guy likes to be in charge of the herd, but I’ve never seen him fight for it. He’s always just in the lead -- at least, in the pasture. On the trail, he’s happy to be in front or back. With young riders or novices, he goes very slow...but don’t let that fool you. This boy is FAST! When you ask him to be, he hits a whole new gear. He doesn’t get stupid when running around other horses; he doesn’t feel the need to race, and doesn’t start running just because someone else does. I love this horse! He rides well in the saddle, bareback, single or double. I’ve ridden him bareback with just a halter and a rope no problem. He’s one of the very best horses I’ve ever had.

That being said, it’s probably pretty obvious this boy is my baby. Re-homing him is a hard decision, but what I feel is best for him. He will go only to a suitable family. He may not be stalled full-time. He needs a turn-out, and other horses. I will not adopt him to anyone who wants to keep him in their backyard or doesn’t have horse-sense. He deserves a great home where he will be loved and treated well.

Ideally, I think Wyatt would do best in a ranch-type setting. If you’re an older rider who wants a horse with enough get-up to beat all the others, but with the head of a level, balanced horse -- this is him. No spook, never seen him buck or rear. Like I said, I’ve had children on him and haven’t been worried. He’s solid, sane, and gorgeous.

Price is not negotiable, unless you are considering homing both my horses posted (Apollo the Palomino -- please see my other ads to learn about him). If you know horses, you know this guy is a rare find. If you think you’re the home for him, give me a call. I will not have anyone out to see him or ride until Wednesday, June 20th. Hay, feed, tack, etc are all available with him. Backing out of the horse hobby is a hard but necessary decision.
