Description:
If you are looking for a safe, gentle, well broke gelding who has been there and done that, then take a look at Jackson. He is a 16 year old sorrel gelding who has spent most of his life being used on the ranch and day worked off of. The last couple years his main job has been to pack kids and guests around, give them a fun ride and bring them back in one piece to the headquarters. Jackson is very well broke with an excellent one handed neck rein and a good stop. He has been used on the ranch for all phases of ranch work, including sorting pairs, roping and doctoring cattle in the pasture, and checking fence. He is gentle and safe, but still able to go do a job on the ranch if you need him to. He has plenty of get up and go left. He rides just as good bareback with a halter as he does with a saddle and bridle. Jackson is a pleasure to ride out in the pasture, crosses water with no problem, and isn’t spooky. Jackson is a nice ranch horse but also the perfect trail horse and will go up, over or through anything you point him at. With his ranching background he would even do well at team sortings. He has excellent ground manners and is easy to be around. Jackson is the perfect size at 14.3 hh, low to the ground but stout enough that a big man could easily ride him. He is good on both leads, will move off your leg, and work a gate. Jackson is laid back but responsive, and will not take advantage of his rider. He can be ridden out by himself or with other horses, and doesn’t mind being separated from the group. Jackson has also been ridden alongside the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it.
