Doug is the poster child of gentleness. There is not a mean bone in his body. He is a ranch horse that regularly puts in long and demanding days. Doug never fails to perform any and every task that is asked of him. He goes to work to get the job done. He’s not there to waste anybody’s time. He’s at the top of the worker bee chain. As you can see in some of the photos he has a good-sized scar on his left hip. He was out to pasture as a colt and when he was brought in he had the cut. It is unknown exactly how he got cut. But you will see for yourself in the videos attached it has impaired him in no way. He does not limp, favor, etc on that leg. It’s just a blemish. If you’re the kind of person that will turn away because of a scar, then please by all means, move along. You’ll be turning away from one hell of a horse. Doug has performed all aspects of ranch work and excelled in them. Including, but not limited to, branding, sorting, gathering, doctoring with others or by yourself, roping horses, and shipping cattle. He necks reins and responds immediately to leg pressure. He side passes, opens gates, shoes and loads easily, and is easy to catch. He is athletic with lots of speed. When an inexperienced rider asks to ride one of our horses, Doug is the man. He will take care of his rider. He is a no-nonsense kind of guy. He is a really great and dependable horse. He always does his best for his rider. Doug is a horse that anyone would be lucky to own. He is the kind that you can take trail riding, pleasure, hunting, to town for 4H, queening, or rodeo and then turn around and go to work. He is very versatile. Don’t miss out on this big fella!!
