JA Bay Drifter is a Jamison bred, Johann Thomasson finished, fancy broke gelding ready to show in Ranch Horse Versatility competition. And, he’s team roping jackpot ready in heading and heeling, both. Powerfully built with a big hip and sound foot wearing a #1 shoe, he’s got the confirmation balance and looks to compete in Ranch Horse Confirmation. A son of Blues Orphan Drift and half brother to several JA top selling geldings, he’s anchored by the Blue Valentine, Driftwood and Haythorne blood that has produced great ranch horses for generations. "Drifter" is friendly and good on the ground. Very broke in the bridle, he’s cowy with a big stop and turn-around and strong from the horn. Ranched on for two years by Johann in Kansas’ Flint Hills, Colorado’s western slope High Country and the Arizona desert. Doctored cows, yearlings, and calves. Really fun horse to drag calves on at branding time. He has been used to break in fresh steers for the winter roping season at Dynamite Arena(Cave Creek, AZ) the past two years.
