Description:
This is an unused handmade Pat Vaughn bit with a floating port. Pat is well-known bit and spur maker from Shamrock, Texas. It is marked with a P and an upside down V inside one cheek piece and numbered 183 inside the other cheek piece. Pat has been building bits and spurs since 1980 and is listed in Bits & Spurs, Motifs, Techniques, and Modern Makers by Ned and Jody Martin. The bit is steel and is mounted with and engraved nickel silver concho and nickel silver beads down the cheek pieces. This would be a nice bit to add to a collection or to use.
