Description:
A position as an assistant to a world renowned champion trainer and rider is currently available for a qualified candidate at Joe Heim Quarter Horses, Inc., located at Exit 5, I-35 in Thackerville, Oklahoma (120 miles south of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and/or 10 miles north of Gainesville, Texas).

Tasks for this light duty position include assisting with minimal tasks (Mon-Sat) which may include feeding, watering, and caring for horses and other livestock. The assistant will also be responsible for assisting with grooming, saddling, sales prep, general maintenance, and supervised riding activities as needed. Hours may vary according to seasonal needs and business related priorities. No long hours or overtime. No grunt work. Flexibility and a good attitude are mandatory. Stall cleaning is not.

Candidates for this position must have the following WITHOUT EXCEPTION:

1. A background and verifiable experience handling horses of all ages and levels of training,

2. Working knowlege of Western horsemanship;

3. Verifiable intermediate to advanced riding skills;

4. A strong work ethic with care,respect, and empathy for both animals and other people;

5. Outward appearance of initiative, common sense, and the propensity to utilize sound judgment;

6. A dependable, conscientious attitude;

7. The ability and willingness to communicate effectively and voluntarily;

8. A flexible, adaptable mindset for time management and situational needs;

9. Must work well with others and be able to readily identify opportunities to learn and to act accordingly to benefit both personally and professionally;

10. A neat, professional appearance and polite, respectful demeanor without discrimination for age, gender, race, or religiion.

Compensation includes the following:

1. Beginning salary of $100 per week with guaranteed raises over time based on attitude and proven performance,

2. Clean, well appointed, private, fully furnished accomomodations with paid utilities, DirecTV, and laundry facilities (valued at $900.00 per month)

3. Horses to ride;

4. Riding lessons (valued at $65-$150 per lesson);

5. Boarding only for one personal horse (valued at $300 per month)

6. Numerous associated benefits.

*Due to limited housing space and liability concerns, no children, extended family members, dogs, or other pets, will be allowed.
