This truck has been a Florida truck its whole life, I purchased it just this past summer/fall. It just is not going to be versatile enough for our operation, so I am looking to sell it, and probably go back to a one ton Dodge with 4 wheel drive. This is a fantastic hauling truck though. Many new parts since I purchased it as it needed some TLC. New steer tires, new blower motor on the heater, new air horn valve, new air pressure protection module, new trailer plug, new gooseneck hitch, new air ride Bostrom seats (both), added an Ex-Guard 150 cattle guard bumper, new multi function turn switch, new cab air ride air bag, new serpentine belt, and probably some small things I am forgetting. It has just had a full service with new oil, filter, and both fuel filters, and has made one 1500 mile trip since then. Things it needs still, in my opinion, rear tires sometime soon, radio, cb, and the cab has a couple spots that need some paint touch up. The cab appears to be galvanized, or aluminum, but needs paint to look good! The last owner told me the motor and tranny were all still original, and the Cat dealer confirmed that no service records could be found for this unit. This truck has a 2.79 rear end, runs really great at around 70 MPH, and I just averaged 11 MPG for the last trip. The Caterpillar 3126E was rated at 250 HP, but I had the Cat dealer turn it up, they said it should be running around 290 HP now. The Fuller 10 speed has no problems, and shifts good. Clutch seems to be in good shape. Hydraulic brakes and under 26,000 GVW, so no CDL necessary!! Also have the 30,000# Reese fifth wheel hitch that came off it that will bolt right back on if you are hauling a fifth wheel trailer. Custom built flatbed with LEDlighting, and tons of storage space.
