For sale is a working ranch "Selway Packer" saddle made by Ted N. Estes (Western Horseman, November 2015) in Ball Ground, Georgia. This is a 2011 model made on a BILL BEAN tree- 93 bars, 4" cantle, 16" seat. I received this saddle back on a trade in. Butter-smooth Hermann Oak number 1 skirting throughout. Watt stainless steel hardware, small cheyenne roll. It does have a cosmetic issue where a cowboy was thrown and the spurs marked the seat up some (see photo), merely a cosmetic issue giving the saddle some "character." Other than that, it’s in like-new condition. You will get a matching breast collar AND matching saddle bags for the listed price, so price is firm. A new elk skin wrap has just been placed on the horn. The saddle has never been roped off of. The horn is a special "post" horn by Bill Bean- very visually appealing with a 5" cap. The strongest point on this saddle, for the rider, is the ground seat. It’s as all-day comfortable as they come. A real "sit-in" saddle that places the rider in the correct position. For the horse, I’ve found Bill’s 93 degree bar angle to be one of the best for fitting a broader variety of horses without causing any problems concerning fit. I firmly believe in the best trees when making a saddle, and I do not buy into the mentality of "one tree built for one horse." These high-end trees fit horses, where the lesser end production stuff is found wanting in construction, fit, lacing, strength, and so on.
