The property currently has a 6 stall barn, outdoor riding ring, hot walker and miles of beautiful horse trails up in the mountains on our property. We will be starting a project to add an indoor riding arena and a larger stable on the property very soon. We are currently seeking a long term, full time barn or stable manager that has solid and long term experience with horses. The manager’s responsibilities would be to care for the horses, i.e. feeding (knowing proper nutrition for the horses), being able to realize when to call the Vet if a horse is sick, cleaning stalls, exercising the horses and accompanying us on trail rides around the property. For this reason, we would prefer someone with extensive trail experience and experience with gaited horses. We also plan to purchase some livestock just to enjoy and other small animals (miniature goats, etc.) to keep around the farm. So, someone who loves animals is most important for the position. Knowledge of tractors and other farm equipment is preferred and anyone who can fix fence when needed and has knowledge of Water Wells is an added plus! We treat all of our employees like family and in exchange we expect that you will be honest and trustworthy. We do have a barn manager’s 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment on the property that would be included with the position for the right person. Must love animals! Unfortunately, we cannot bring anyone on who wants to bring their own horse or several animals with them, as we don’t have enough stalls just yet. There are places in the area where you can board a horse if needed if you have a horse that you would like to bring. One dog would most likely be fine if you have one, but there is a resident mountain lion in the area that seems to surprise us sometimes, so would need to keep a watchful eye on your pet as we do ours as well.
