Description:
We are a very responsible couple with a great deal of experience and have a great deal to offer. We are very serious in our pursuit, and would like to be placed in a position very soon. We currently live in the Bitterroot Valley, MT. We would like to stay in the Western states, but will consider all areas. Housing must be provided, and respectable salary. We are looking for a great fit for all involved.

We would like to take a moment to explain our qualifications in more detail:

Mike:

Starting with High School: I attended a trade school and earned a degree in carpentry.

Then joined the Air Force - Became a jet engine mechanic for 4 years, after leaving the Air Force I was then hired by Pratt and Whitney Aircraft as one of their jet engine inspectors for the SR-71 which was a top secret project. I was also involved in varies research and development projects. One being the contract for the space shuttle main boost pumps.

Then after leaving Pratt and Whitney I went onto getting my license for plumbing, heating and oil burner technician. To continue my education I went to a 2 year school for HVAC mechanic. Which I hold a license for.

From there I went on to being employed as a foreman at a low temp. environmental test chamber company. I was then offered a job through Intel Corporation. There I was an HVAC operator. When Intel was down sizing they offered me a buy out package, which I accepted.

I then decided to pursue something I always wanted to do which was open my own outfitter store. Which was like a smaller version of a Cabela’s store. At the same time I was owner of this store I was also guiding hunts and fishing. I then decided I wanted to make a living as a guide. So I chose to attend the Western Montana School for Guides. After graduating guide training I was offered the position as instructor for WMSG, and guide for Circle KBL Outfitters here in Darby. After 5 years as guide and instructor I was moved up into the position as Head instructor, and Head Guide. Which included the responsibility of guide school curriculum, and everyday operations of Circle KBL, over seeing anywhere from 8-17 employees, 60-80 head of stock, all equipment and ranch duties. I was involved in Circle KBL’s growth from a small Montana operation to two much larger operations in the Selway Wilderness. Which I was proud to be part of. With that being said, involved an enormous amount of construction projects, electrical work, heavy equipment operation and mechanics. In and among est all of this was the daily operations of ranch work, ie; equine care, trimming, shoeing, health care, training, haying, irrigating, fence repair. etc...

During the winter months the outfitting business slows down and I would go to Florida. My brother owns a large electrical company and I worked for him as an electrician in both residential and commercial building sites.

I’ve been in the Guiding and Outfitting business for 20 years, and now that my life has changed, spending weeks and sometimes months away from Christine is not something I choose to want to do any longer. We have talked for the past 2 years about pursuing something we can do together, and we have both always wanted to work on a ranch, and decided what better thing to do together. We were both raised in the old school manor of hard work is the best reward.

We have both been in management positions, and understand the difficulties involved with finding people that are trust worthy, honest and hard working, and an asset to a business

If we are fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to be hired as your managers you will find that we will be all of the above and more.

Christine:

First let me start with I’m not your average woman. I am not someone that has the need to go shopping, go to social events etc. I have always lived a solitude type life, including several years off the grid. Mike and I have no children together or from previous relationships.

I have always been involved with horses and cattle to some degree. As a youngster my family raised beef and dairy cattle, with that being over 500 head of livestock. I have been riding since I was able to sit a saddle. I had my own ranch for over 15 years breeding, raising, training, competing quarter horses. Consisting of 10-15 mares and standing 2 stallions. Breeding an average of 20 mares per stallion a season. I competed in amateur cutting, barrel racing, western pleasure and team penning.

Throughout my life I have worked on many different ranches in North Carolina, Florida, Michigan and Montana. Usually just working when the ranches needed help moving, branding, hauling, doctoring. The biggest ranch I have worked is here in Montana The (BarRL) Rennaker Ranch which encompasses 2500 acres. They are the cattle brokers for the entire Valley. At any given time he has over 500 cows, calves, heifers and steers. I help move cattle all over the ranch and in and out of Forest service land.

When younger I was a Vet Tech for about 10 years, mostly small animal and wildlife rehabilitation.

Managed a Tractor Supply store in Florida. Was the Livestock/Equine Specialist for Quality Supply here in Montana.

I have a great deal of mechanical experience as well, I’m able to repair most anything on vehicles and tractors.

I drove 18 wheeler for a few years. Have hauled horses and livestock all over the country.

I was given the opportunity to work for Circle KBL Outfitters about 2 years after I moved back to Montana. I worked the office booking hunts and doing trail rides. That is where I met Mike. Once the company was sold the present company didn’t need an office manager. Which case forced me to find a job in a office in town.

I’m sure there is more I could go on about, but this will at least give you an idea of my background. I am an avid hunter and outdoors woman. I agree with game management and predator control. I’m a very hard worker that does what it takes to get a job done.

Mike and I have made a decision together that it is time for us to pursue other avenues. We have both always been people that prefer to live a more solitude lifestyle. We put our heart and soul into whatever job is handed us. We are very caring, honest and loyal employees. We choose to work together because we are a fantastic team. Very similar in all ways. We have chosen to pursue this position not on a whim, great thought has gone into this, and with our backgrounds feel we are best suited for a position as managers or caretakers.

We take great pride in the work we do, and treat whatever job we have as if it where ours. We are very neat, clean, drug and alcohol free. We just like to work hard. It’s a very rewarding feeling to come in, in the evening and know you have worked hard all day and accomplished a good job.

We feel that if given the opportunity to work your ranch we would be a great asset. We look forward to discussing our backgrounds in greater detail.
