As the purpose of the Equine Center is to support the academic programs of the department, the Equine Supervisor will coordinate farm operations with class activities, research programs, and service events, as directed by departmental faculty. Required Education and Experience · Baccalaureate degree in an agricultural discipline or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire. · Experience with horses and related animals, including stable management, hay quality, and forage management. · Ability to perform basic veterinary care of horses. · Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English. · Valid driver’s license and ability to drive with a trailer. Preferred Education and Experience · Baccalaureate degree in Equine Science or closely related field with at least 12 credit hours in equine science. · Evidence of supervisory experience, stable management, and a basic understanding of inventory control. · Knowledge of equine science research methods and experimental designs. · Advanced knowledge of equine nutrition and/or breeding.
