Ride and work horses. 6 days a week, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p. m. with 2 - 1 hours breaks and 2 - 15minute breaks. Experienced with horses, able to work independently and without supervision. Work multiple horses each day. I expect some training and/or riding at least four hours a day, weather permitting. This is a one person job. This is pretty much a country type farm, not a fancy facility or showplace. There seems to always be something that needs to be fixed or repaired. You need to be in good physical shape to work in this Texas heat. If you are overweight, THIS WILL NOT WORK. Must be a good rider as well and able to start as well as finish horses. Must have the common sense to recognize if something needs to be repaired to keep a horse in, etc. I have brood mares in pastures, breeding stallions in a barn and paddocks, and six young stallions that need to be finished out to sell. The daily schedule is as follows: 7:00 - 9:00 am - Feed the baby barn, pastures and stallion barn with paddocks. Check the water in the stallion barn stalls, change out four of the stallions into the four paddocks, hay the guys. Check the water in the paddocks and in the baby barn stall and paddock. 9:00 - 10:00 - Morning break 10:00 - 12:00 - Work horses, ride, lunge or whatever needs to be done. 12:00 - 1 :00 pm - Lunch Break 1:00 - 3:00 - Work horses, ride, lunge or whatever needs to be done. 3:00 - 4:30 - Feed baby barn and stallion barn, paddocks, hay stallions. Tidy the barns, close everything up for the day. I have 11 breeding stallions and 6 younger stallions. The 6 stallions currently are being worked to prepare to sell. Riding pretty good, but still need work. I have 35 breeding mares in 3 pastures - the baby barn pasture and two other adjoining pastures. The 2 mare pastures get fed once a day and the baby barn gets brought up and fed twice a day, but are let out to pasture after eating. As you can see from the schedule, I am not expecting someone to kill themselves working for me. I do however, require that you work during the work day hours, and get something accomplished. Any of the horses currently being ridden, worked or lunged can be done as time permits. They all do not have to get done each day. One day you may need to do something in the barn or something else, and may not get to work horses during that time allowed for working them, or you may need to worm and will not have the full amount of time to work horses. How long you have to work the horses depends upon what happens any given day, but there should be enough time to get them worked plenty throughout the week. But you must physically be there working at something during the work hours. I also provide a small travel trailer with utilities included. I do expect you to keep the trailer clean and tidy, no food left out etc, and to keep the AIR at a reasonable temperature - 76 degrees - no lower. And we will inspect it as we feel we need to. NOT TO INVADE YOUR PRIVACY, BUT TO MAKE SURE OUR TRAILER IS NOT TRASHED. I have had to go in and fumigate almost every time someone leaves, and I am just sick of it. The pay is $1000/month payable on the 15th and eom, by check and I can give you a 1099 at the end of the year or I can deduct all taxes throughout the year. I will let you make that choice.
