We are hiring a cow herd assist who will work with our herd manager and owners in the daily care of our registered cow herd. Qualified applicants will be able to: - Safely operate and maintain the basic equipment used in the daily care of our cow herd, such as a tractor and hay processor, pickup truck with cake box, cattle trailer, skid steer and other normal ranch equipment. -Safely and quietly handle cattle. -Assist with calving season duties including checking cows, weighing and recording calves at birth, tagging and pairing out. - Assist with breeding season duties including synchronizing recipients, heat detecting, and embryo transfer/A.I. - Assist with spring and fall calf vaccinations. -Assist in the daily checking of pastures, which includes checking the health and well-being of cows, calves and herd bulls, checking water, checking creep feeders, checking salt and mineral.
