He stands 16 hands tall and is very thick and stout. He has the big feet, bone and body build of the draft horse and the agility and athleticism of the quarter horse. Milo has a kind, easy going and eager to please disposition. He gets along well with any rider and can be trusted to do his job well. We purchased Milo from the individual who owned him his entire life. He was imprinted at birth and has been handled all his life. Milo one hand neck reins, lopes circles on the correct lead, backs, side passes and has a big stop. He will side pass to a mounting block with the snap of your fingers (or anything you choose to mount from) to be mounted or dismounted. Milo has had many hours of round pen groundwork as well as liberty work and has proven that he is very intelligent! Milo will also lay down and can be mounted from laying down or will lay down at your command to be dismounted! He has a few tricks up his sleeve. He will also sit like a dog and will follow you around like one at the command to come! Milo is also an excellent trail mount. He will safely pack you through any rough or rugged terrain, high water, mud, or ditches. He will navigate trails with ease, going up and down steep hills over logs and through thick brush. Our children have even ridden him many miles on the trail, is one of their favorites to get to ride and he can be trusted to safely pack them. He has been exposed to all kinds of wildlife such as deer and turkey. We’ve used him on the farm to check fences and get up cattle and he has even been roped off some. He is completely traffic safe and pays no mind to tarps, whips, guns or other loud or “scary looking” things. He will drag things big or small, loud, and noisy- it makes no difference to him. He just does what he is asked with no issues. Milo is friendly. He is friendly to people, to other horses, and even the dogs, goats and cats that roam about at the barn. He has no issues getting along and is easy to catch in the field. Again, he will follow you without a halter or anything just at the command to “come.” Milo will ride alone or with a group, in the front leading the way or in the back- it’s all the same to him.
