I’m seeking immediate full time year round work on a family owned and operated ranch here in Colorado. Hoping to find an outfit to ride for the brand for that believes in hard work, raising quality beef and treating others with respect and the way you want to be treated. My experience with cattle includes helping with calving, tagging and doctoring calves, vaccinating and branding both dragging them to a fire and on a calf table, moving pairs out to summer range, checking range conditions and moving them to keep them on adequate forage, checking water and hauling salt and mineral to them, gathering and bringing them to the home ranch in the fall, sorting calves for shipping or weaning, feeding cattle through the winter. I’m experienced at repairing and maintaining all types of ranch fence, welding and fabricating anything needed on the ranch, operation, maintenance, and minor repairs on tractors, skid steers, loaders, minimal backhoe experience. I’m extremely handy with a chainsaw for clearing trees off fence lines and out of ditches, and processing firewood with a log splitter. I have set up side rolls and got pivots going in the spring and used them to irrigate hayfields. I have cut and raked hay but not had the opportunity to run a baler yet. I like to work cattle quietly without getting into a hurry or a lot of yelling it just seems to go smoother in my experience and I pride myself on my cattle handling skills whether on the range or in the corral. I’m a single man, with 1 border collie mix. I need housing (not a camper) beef and a salary around $2500 a month to start. The salary is slightly negotiable depending on the position.
