Description:
ONCE IN A LIFETIME AQHA MARE

Quiet & GENTLE

PPE welcome at buyers expense

Beaus Little Gold Bar aka “Sister” is a once in a lifetime 2006AQHA mare.

A beautiful blood bay, she has been there and done that. You name it and this mare has done it!

She’s gentle and kind, and has a great personality and attitude. You point and this mares goes. She spent half her life in Texas, and the other half in the mountains. She’s the horse you want to be on if you’re going to run across cactus or semis blaring their horns...whatever the situation, she knows how to take care of you!

Whether you’re looking to lope circles in the arena, trot the barrel pattern, trail ride, or are looking for something sound, safe and sane to ride parades with, this mare is the right fit for you. With age comes the mature mind and experience that you cannot find often in horses half her age.

She’s been used to teach ground work and trailer loading clinics (and knows all the methods: Parelli, Clinton A, etc), and her ground manners are superb. She knows when it’s time to work, and when it’s time to chill and she takes every job seriously from transcending down a steep mountainside to baby sitting the five year old in the arena.

She rides in whatever you want to ride in: bridleless, halter, sidepull, bosal, snaffle, correctional, etc. She has a soft face and soft mouth, so if you are heavy handed and like to yank on one you’re not a good fit. Bareback, bareback pad, western saddle, English...this girl has done it all. She has soft sides and understands leg aides, so doesn’t need someone who only knows “kick and spur”.

Sister has a lot of buttons and the more you know, the more she will give. If you have something big to rope, you’ll be glad you’re on her because she will put her heart and soul into dragging that sucker where you want it. She’s got a gentle easy jog and a long trot that will put most other horses’ lope to shame. If you’ve got a big circle, she’s a great one to take. If you’ve got a lil’ ol’ trail ride you wanna take your city friends on, she’s great for that, too.

As far as obstacles, this horse has done it all: Tarps, Walmart sacks, llamas, whips, ropes, tires, culverts, children, umbrellas, bridges, crazy ladies swinging their purses over their heads, flags, marching bands, drive thrus, baseball diamonds....you name it, this horse has probably been there and seen it already.

She’s been used to sing the national anthem—from the high school baseball diamond to the rodeo arena. She’s taught more than one young adult to rope. She’s done halter, equitation, ranch performance, and western pleasure. She’s done the barrel pattern, mounted shooting, and poles. She’s done breakaway (although she would tell you, it was not her favorite event). She’s stood, waiting patiently, hobbled in the parking lot while I ate breakfast inside. She’s been to the top of a 14er. She’s packed camping supplies, spent nights on highlines, carried dogs and children in panniers, and lead many a pack string. She’s packed elk, stared down bear, killed coyotes, stomped rattlesnakes, and gently taken a treat from a child’s fingers. She’s carried flags, picked up riders, roped wild horses, and sorted calves.

I haven’t even scratched the surface of what this mare has done with me....for me.

She’s not real cowy, but she makes up for it with her snappy handle.

She’s a mare. She has some attitude. She’ll tell you if you’re wrong. She always knows which direction the trailer is and can get you there if you’re lost. If you’re a bossy know it all, you won’t like her and she won’t like you. But, if you’re here to learn...to ask...to adventure and do awesome things...if you’re looking for a PARTNER, look no further.

She’s truly one of the best. She’s the go-to in the pen for starting colts, roping strays, or putting the kids (3 or 4 of em!) on her for a trail ride. We have owned her 14 of her 16 years and it’s only due to sad life circumstances that we are unfortunately parting ways with her. It will take a very special fit with the right match for me to turn loose of Sister!

We couldn’t be more privileged and proud to offer her for your consideration.

She’s not a “kid” horse, and I don’t want to see her go to a beginner. She’s way too nice to be a “husband horse”. She deserves someone who knows how to ride, is looking for a step up, and will give her the time she loves.

For only a fraction of the reasons listed above, this mare is for sale not on sale. Call or text or email, but whatever you choose please ask to speak to Mick.

Luna, NM
