“Raren Hayden”

Hayden is an 8 yo gelding, AQHA papered, 16.2 roughly, havent formally taped him. Straight correct feet, he’s stayed shod with me, more so since I’ve been using him frequently to be nice, but can be barefoot as well, just needs to keep up on his maintenance. He just got his teeth floated 2 months ago, vet said he checked out well. Stands, ties, loads, sometimes he’ll come to you in pasture, sometimes he’ll run away. He’s a horse. He’s not lovey dovey, even with grain he has his days. He’s a horse.

Pony him off thr truck, 4 wheeler or side by side, he doesn’t care.

I’ve rode him in everything from a halter, to snaffle, to ported shank, he’s solid. Nice neck rein in any. Respects the halter

Amazing walk out, big strided trot, and a lope you can sit all day. He’ll ride up but will also have a nice quiet walk/trot/lope.

This guy is badass really. He’s big but he’ll be running down a cow and turn on a dime to cut it out. Really caught me off guard first time he did it he bout left me behind. He IS cowy, just a little too big to go cutting in a small pen.

He’ll drag any calf you dally on, and I’ve roped a big ole bull on him and he held him. He starts off a little squirrely to the rope but just keep your intentions strong to him and he’s never acted up. I think he had some bad previous experiences and it’s stayed with him. But I’d trust to rope anything on him. He’s also helped me halter break 2 colts I’ve had since owning him. Little impatient with the babies sniffing on him but did well enough for what I needed.

I love this horse. I’d really trust Anyone to ride him, kid, beginner adult, grandma. He’s so kind and gentle and truly means well.

He goes through any water, he’ll go into bog, and he stands up to mean bulls hitting him- yes I unintentionally got that theory tested and he was a champ. No back down from this guy whatsoever.

I took him to Gerry Cox’s trail competition, he stalled well with strangers horses, and did all of the tasks with ease with some coaxing, given it was all new, he was great.

Here’s the not so good:

He’s cold backed. Consistent riding every or every other day, he’s fine. But Give him a week off and his hog around, never enough to get a penny off his ass but I’ve never fully tested the theory. Hes never thrown his heels up, and he’s easy to pull his head up to stop. I’m no bronc buster, but I always throw him in the round pen or lunge around the lead rope a few laps to get any goofiness out. He’s always honest about it. Hasn’t done it after the first few min of a ride, if he’s going to, and even then, I’ll hop off and run him around a few more laps and he’s good to go.
