Phone #: 970-306-2997 click to view fullsize image Description: Looking for somebody who wants to really get involved with sheep and meat goats- 1 year PAID internship on our farm, could turn permanent for the right person. Possible partnership available. We graze on irrigated farm ground and brush, both on our ranch and on leased property around town. Goats especially move around a lot. Daily dog work- good dog sense is very important. Real working farm job- don’t expect a 9-5. 30-60 hours per week in the growing season, 20 hours per week in the winter time. Average day 2-4 hours of Irrigation chores 5 days a week. Average day 2-5 hours of animal chores 6 days a week. Long days cleaning the barn once a month. Long days working animals for sorting, health care, shipping, etc… every 2 months or so, sometimes more often. Random things to fix, errands to run and problems to solve will interrupt your plans sometimes, gotta be able to roll with the punches. Long hours at harvest time twice a year. Can’t pick your day off if there’s hay on the ground. 2 weeks paid vacation. This is small town livin, we are seriously remote. Picturesque Southern Utah landscape. Big empty wide open color country. It is really beautiful, but it’s not easy. 40 miles from the grocery store, 100 miles from the interstate. Best place in the world for the right person, but not for everyone. Great hiking, fishing and hunting- half a million acres of public land literally right out your door. Tiny town of only 200 people. Really cool community, but it comes with plenty of small town BS if you don’t know how to stay out of it. We have a very nice house for you to live in. Don’t apply unless you know how to take good care of your place. Very good, stock broke dogs are welcome, don’t bring a bad one. Family comes first! Spouses and kids are welcome, and we understand that you need to work around their needs. There are jobs available in town for your partner. No Drugs. No drama.
